What personal data we collect and why we collect it: HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP.. collects and uses Personal Information (PI) solely for the purpose of conducting business and developing an understanding of its clients. HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP.. hereby asserts that Personal Information will only be used for the following purposes: Operational Business Services, Employment Services and/or Client Investigative Services.
HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP.. collects personally identifiable information directly from the person to whom it belongs. People have a right to know how HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP.. handles their personal information, and this company will only use it for the purposes for which it was collected. If HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP. wants to use Personal Information for any other reason, they will get each person's approval. HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP. will not use that information without consent of the individual.
HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP.. will never under any circumstances sell, give away, or otherwise reveal Personal Information or contact lists to non-binding clients or other parties. Limited disclosure, however, might be necessary in order for HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP.. to carry out its daily operations and fulfill its stated business responsibilities. This may apply to HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP.. consultants, or business partners, but only on the condition that they respect and adhere to this privacy policy to the extent required to carry out their own day-to-day operations and commercial obligations.
HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP.. promises to use the proper security measures, physical defenses, and technological safeguards to secure personal information. HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP.. keeps track of Personal Information in both paper and electronic records. Older records may be kept in a safe, offsite place as required by law or company continuity/disaster recovery procedures.
HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP.. shall only keep personal data as long as necessary to carry out business operations. When it is no longer needed, Personal Information will be securely and safely destroyed in accordance with our document retention, transmission, and destruction policy. That being said, there are regulations that mandate the retention of certain Personal Information for a predetermined period of time. The law will take precedence over our policy in those cases.
According to legal obligations, HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP.. must provide Personal Information to the competent authorities in order to comply with their investigation into possible violations of local, provincial, or federal laws, and/or if there is an emergency posing a risk to someone's life, health, or personal safety.

HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP aspires to offer its Clients high quality investigative services in a discreetly and efficient manner in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Privacy Law Act, Canada Evidence Act.
Every case is independently planned by HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP using its professional experience, by considering the Client’s needs, conditions, budget, safety, and other factors. Micromanagement in any form is not tolerated by HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP.
HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP will not knowingly provide illegal or immoral services. HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP will conduct operational investigative activities in regard to the individual or legal entity indicated by the Client. Operational investigative activities may involve, but not limited to; background checks, surveillance, undercover investigations, budgetary considerations, case conditions, confidentiality, safety, and other aspects.
Specific services and pricing will be provided to you upon request. This Agreement can be extended upon the acceptance and receipt of additional retainer funds at the discretion of HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP.
The “Terms and Conditions” of this Agreement shall take effect on the day the Agreement is completed and signed, and will stay in full force and effect until HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP. deems the services completed or the retainer funds have been exhausted. By signing this Agreement, the Client is accepting HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP’s Privacy Policy, Terms of Conditions, and Refund Policy.
COLLECTION, USE AND DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION: Throughout the duration of this Agreement, it may be necessary for HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP to have access to the Client’s confidential and protected information for the sole purpose of performing the services subject to this Agreement. By entering into Agreement of investigative services, Client hereby authorizes and consents to HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP, collecting information, which may include credit, personal and other data. Client acknowledges and agrees that HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP will use that information to communicate with third parties on your behalf and will use it to advise you of our services. HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP is permitted to keep the information for as long as would be required to complete their investigative services, as well as for a reasonable amount of time thereafter, required by law. Original notes and work product will remain the property of HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP.
Depending on the circumstances of each case, HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP will obtain necessary video and digital images for investigative services. It is the Client’s right to decline any digital evidence.
Client has the right to access applicable personal information collected by HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP by contacting HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP.
PRIVACY/CONFIDENTIALITY: HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP respects and understands the importance of protecting Client’s personal information for safekeeping and comply with the Federal Personal Information Protection and Electronics Documents Act (PIPEDA). This policy applies to all forms of client personal information, including paper based documents, electronic records, and other media. HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP will comply with all regulations and legislation regarding the retention and destruction of personal information, including but not limited to PIPEDA, and any other applicable privacy laws and regulations.
Client agrees that the names and identities of HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP, its owners, representatives and agents shall not be disclosed to the Subject of the investigation or to anyone likely to disclose this information to the Subject, except as provided by the laws of Canada, the Province of Ontario, and it’s Municipalities. Please refer to our Privacy Policy to review in full.
OMISSION OF INFORMATION: The Client attests that they will not interfere in the investigation, withhold, omit, or misrepresent themselves, their company, organization, or their purpose for ordering searches or requesting investigative services from HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP.
HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP reserves the right to terminate this Agreement at any time if there is Client interference or misrepresentation by Client or second or third parties directed by Client. Client will forfeit the retainer shall information is withheld, intentionally, omitted or provided in a deceptive way.
Client further agrees that investigative services are NOT for the purpose of entrapment, blackmailing, stalking, or harassment, nor will it be used in any way against the laws or regulations of Canada, The Province of Ontario, or any of its Municipalities. HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP reserves the right to refuse any report (oral or written) or other information without refund, if HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP has reasonable cause to believe the Client intends to use this information HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP supplies in any way contrary to this agreement.
HARASSMENT: HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP, representatives and agents will not tolerate any form of harassment. HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP reserves the right to cut off communication if Client or second or third parties show signs of being angry, outraged or violent while speaking with our professionals. Our legal staff and/or authorities will be notified if harassment continues, and if necessary, legal or criminal action will be taken.
DEFAMATION: HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP cautions against spreading any misleading information that could damage HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP’s reputation. False claims that cause harm against HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP will not be covered by free speech. We caution our Clients from letting their disappointments over take them in light of the report’s conclusions. HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP reserves the right to impose a $5000.00 fee for review and comment disapproval in order to avoid defamation of HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP.
RESTRAINING & PROTECTIVE ORDERS: HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP will not conduct any investigative services or obtain information for a Client who has a restraining or protective order placed on them or the Subject. In the event such an order is in place, and the Client has not disclosed this information to HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP, this Agreement will be terminated upon discovery of this information by HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP, and the full retainer shall be forfeit by the Client.
ACCURACY: The accuracy of the information submitted by the Client will directly determine the success of the provided investigation services. HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP cannot be held liable for inaccuracies in public record information, databases accessed, or requests submitted by the Client. While the information furnished by HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP is from reliable sources, its accuracy is not guaranteed. All information provided by HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP should be verified as for accuracy, timeliness, and legal applications prior to preparation of reports or usage of information. Information provided may have items that are incomplete, incorrect, omitted, misspelled, or deleted. HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP shall attempt to maintain the integrity of all information and data provided. Information and data collected during this investigation shall be released to the Client or other party intended as per the request of the Client, at the sole discretion of HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP.
NO WARANTY OR GUARANTEES: Despite our best efforts, HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP cannot guarantee the success or outcome of the investigation, research, or issues related to the investigative services to be rendered for the Client. However, we will make every effort to offer our professional services on your behalf. The Client acknowledges that the investigation, are by their very nature, time and resource limited and may not provide the desired or planned final outcome.
COMMUNICATION: HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP will make all efforts to respond to all Client requests – including by not limited to those sent by phone, email, or SMS, within 2 days.
HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP provides an initial (up to 30 mins) free consultation to gather your intake form, and to review your requests. Our professional investigator will interview you prior to accepting any investigation, to determine the requirements of your case and provide a realistic idea of the services HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP can offer. Client agrees that all correspondence beyond the initial free consultation with HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP, will be billed an investigative rate of $100/per hour. In most circumstances, the investigator will also estimate the projected costs and time duration the case may be. All cases are reviewed based upon the information supplied by Client.
For reasons of confidentiality, the Client may only get in touch with HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP by phone at the number and/or email address Client supplies to HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP in Agreement. The client must give HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP advanced notice via email if they would prefer to reach HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP by another phone number or email.
HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP agrees that it will maintain reasonable communication with Client during the investigation process. To ensure our Clients are kept up to date, HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP will promptly inform Clients of any noteworthy developments. This also helps to minimize our Client’s expenses, because they will have more information as the case progresses. Periodically, HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP may send messages while conducting an investigation. These messages contain important updates or reminders related to the Client’s requests. HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP will never send any promotional or automated messages. Client agrees that no correspondence will commence during a surveillance operation.
COMPENSATION: Following the Client’s submission of a completed and signed Agreement and full or partial payment based on the price obtained from HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP, the investigation process will begin.
In consideration for the services provided, HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP is to be paid in the following manner, but not limited to, Per Hour, Per Surveillance Hour, or Flat Fee rates. HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP will bill the Client on the 15th/30th day of each month. The invoice will include all services rendered on this Agreement as well as any pre-approved expenses, and all kilometers logged. Client agrees to pay invoice upon receipt.
FEES AND RATES:
a) Investigative Service Fee: To include, but not limited to, all travel time, report time, client consultation, and case management time utilized on the investigation, will be billed at the investigative hourly rate of $100/hr per investigator, in 15 min increments.
b) Surveillance Fees: To include, but limited to, all travel time, covert surveillance, spot checks, and undercover investigations, will be billed at the surveillance hourly rate of $175/hr per investigator, Minimum 3 hours.
c) Disbursements and Expenses: From time to time throughout the duration of this Agreement, HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP may incur certain expenses that are not included as part of the Fee for the services subject to this Agreement. HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP agrees to keep an exact record of any and all expense acquired while performing the investigative services. All disbursements and expense charges are contingent on the approval of the Client, or unless stated in the Agreement.
d) Court Fees: Court appearance charges go above the already paid for service and investigation dates. The standard rate for any court appearance or testimony is $125/hour (4 hours min), plus any additional expenses and a kilometer rate of .75/km.
e) KM Fees: All kilometers traveled from office to destination and back, will be billed at a rate of $0.75/km
f) Multimedia Fee’s: Unless specifically stated in the Agreement by the Client that they do not want to receive any media evidence, charges for the video and multimedia will incur. Video footage will be billed at $100 for initial 15 min of video, and $100 for each additional 10 minutes of video. Photos taken will billed at initial fee of $100 for 3 photos Each additional photo will be billed at $50 per photo.
g) Late Fees: The Client understands that interest will be charged at a rate of 2% per month on any amounts that remain overdue. Any unpaid fees will be sent to collections or legal action will be commenced.
h) NSF Fees: An administration fee of $60.00 will be charged on all NSF charges.
RETAINER: HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP will send Client an invoice for the appropriate retainer amount prior to beginning the investigation. The Client shall place the agreed upon amount in possession of HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP to serve as an advance on future services provided by HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP. Should the provided retainer be insufficient to cover all costs of the services provided, the Client shall pay HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP all additional amounts due upon receipt of invoice for investigative services to continue. HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP retains the right to suspend or end its services if the Client fails to pay within 2 business days, unless otherwise stated in this Agreement. ** Retainer must be paid in full prior to scheduling or conducting any investigative service.
PAYMENT: HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP accepts payments by Cheque, Bank Draft, Interact E-Mail Transfer or Cash.
REFUNDS: Based on the nature of investigative work, we are unable to guarantee the desired result of the Client. Therefore, we do not issue refunds for our services rendered. In the event there are unused retainer funds after the investigative services have been completed, HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP shall refund all unused retainer funds within 30 days of completion of the investigation.
CANCELLATION/TERMINATION: The Client may terminate HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP’s services at any time by giving written notice to HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP. A final invoice of all fees, charges, disbursements, and applicable taxes will be given in such case.
The Agreement shall be in effect on the date hereof and shall continue until terminated by either party upon 48 hours written notice. The Client acknowledges that HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP may end this Agreement at any time in the event that the Client violates any other substantial provision specified in this Agreement or does not pay for the services rendered under this Agreement.
SURVEILLANCE : Except in cases when directed otherwise in writing, the investigator will only record activities that are pertinent to the goal. It is the Client’s right to refuse to accept any digital evidence.
The Client agrees to compensate HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP at the surveillance rate of $175/hour. There is a daily hourly minimum of 4 hours. (Consecutive hours). All kilometers traveled will be from the office to destination and back, will be billed at a rate of $0.75/km
Digit Evidence: Unless specifically stated in the Agreement by the Client that they do not want to receive any media evidence, charges for the video and multimedia will incur. Video-cards, cameras, or editing software can occasionally malfunction and result in video problems, such as lost footage or wrong date-stamp. HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP has no control over technical issues and cannot be held accountable for any media that malfunctions due to a technical error
HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP has no control over the party’s actions, and HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP is not liable for the actions we witness.
In the event of a surveillance cancellation, no time restriction, the client be billed the minimum 4 hours.
SPOT CHECKS: For all Spot Checks the Client agrees to compensate HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP at the surveillance rate of $175/hour, additional expenses incur by HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP, and all kilometers travelled will be from the office to destination and back, will be billed at a rate of $0.75/kilometer. In the event of a Spot Check cancellation, no time restriction, the Client be billed the minimum 3 hours.
REPORT: HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP will provide the final report upon the completion of the investigation and complete payment of the outstanding balance, should the Client request one. When the investigation is finished, the investigator will conduct a thorough analysis of the facts, statements, and evidence gathered, which will be complied in a file to produce a comprehensive report. The final report is to be charged at the investigative rate of $100/hour. Additionally, HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP may, at its sole discretion, give updates during the course of the investigation. HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP reserves the right to withhold information in the event that the Client violates this Agreement. Should the Client have received a refund (under the refund policy) or the Agreement was terminated, HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP is under no obligation to provide the Client with the official report or share any service results.
INDEMNIFICATION: The Client agrees to indemnify, defend and hold HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP, its owners, representatives and agents harmless against all claims, damages, losses, costs and expenses, liabilities, and or 3rd party actions, whether civil, criminal, administrative, or disciplinary in nature, including Attorney’s fees or other legal fees, arising from or in connection with using HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP’s services.
LIABILITES: Client acknowledges and accepts HODOW INVESTIGAITONS, CORP is not liable in contract, tort, or equity for any innocent or negligent misrepresentation made in connection with this Agreement or for any breach of express or implied warranty, condition, or fundamental term of this Agreement or for any fundamental breach of the Agreement or for breach of any express or implied duty of care arising in connection with this Agreement or for any breach of express or implied collateral Agreement, whether made before, at the same time, or after this Agreement, touching any matter affected by or affecting this Agreement.
DISPUTES: If any dispute arises under this Agreement, the Client agrees to attempt to settle this dispute through conciliation, mediation and arbitration prior to any court proceedings. The Client shall notify HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP in writing of any dispute within timely manner. If the parties cannot resolve such disputes themselves, then either party may submit the dispute to mediation by a mediator approved by both parties. The cost shall be borne accordingly to the decision of the arbitrator, who may apportion costs equally or in accordance with any finding of fault or lack of good faith of either party. If either party does not wish to abide by any decision, shall submit the dispute to litigation.
MODIFICATIONS: HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. By continue to use our services after any changes, you agree to the updated terms.
JURISDICTION: The Provincial laws of Ontario regulate and are interpreted in relation to the retainer and the Agreement for the supply of the investigative services by HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP. Any legal proceedings initiated by the Client towards HODOW INVESTIGATIONS, CORP, shall by within the City of Woodstock
